Bonnie the Honeybee is sad and will not leave her room because she does
not want to be a honeybee anymore. She tells her mom she would rather be
a butterfly because butterflies can float through the air looking
pretty. So mom honeybee decides to take Bonnie on a little flying trip
to show her other insects and explain their purpose for being on the
earth. What do you think she tells Bonnie? And do you think Bonnie will
still want to be a butterfly after their flying trip?
This is an adorable book about a honeybee family that teaches children
how important and unique they are, and that each child has a special
purpose in life. I love the way the author uses mom honeybee to teach
the children that they may not be beautiful like others, but each one of
them is beautiful in his own way.
This is a well written story, easy enough for children to understand
clearly the importance of each child’s part in the world. The pictures
are adorable, explaining the story to a different height just by
following the pictures on each page. They are created in a child-like
way with eyes, happy or sad mouths, funny and fun bright colors to
capture any child’s interest.
This beautiful book would be a wonderful addition to your home library
or any public or school library. My two-year-old niece, my little book
critic, loves this book because of the sweet little honeybee and the
beauty of the book inside and out.
