Raising Kids Who Read

As a company of writers working for and with writers, we are all passionate about bringing the joy and adventure of reading into every child's life, and this is our way of helping and supporting parents and teachers in that endeavor.

Our Mission Statement

The goal for the BQB Raising Kids Who Read™ program is to focus on helping teachers and parents bring (or emphasize) the joys of reading into the lives of children of all ages.


What We Offer

  • Author visits to schools or classrooms for reading and/or talking about their book(s) either in person or via Skype at no charge to the school as long as BQB has the opportunity to offer the book(s) to students for purchase.
  • Illustrator visits to schools or classrooms, either in person or via Skype, to talk about and demonstrate the process of illustrating a book cover or interior sketch. 
  • Events with local booksellers to educate, inform, and entertain parents and children.
  • Book fairs to benefit PTAs or schools.
  • Writing contests.
  • Illustration contests.
  • A Raising Kids Who Read™ (RKR) Educational Writing and Publishing Program than can be sponsored by a company for a school or purchased by the school. This year long program brings writers, editors, and publishers into the classroom to teach children the process of creating a book from beginning to end. The program culminates with one book (single or anthology) being published for private or public distribution.
  • Educational programs that teach parents how to encourage and motivate their children to read.
